The Law around the EICR has recently changed. There is now a legal onus on all Landlords to have an EICR in place, which they will need to provide to the tenant, managing agent or local authority should they ask.

From 1st July 2020, all electrical installations must be tested before the start of a new tenancy. All existing tenancies will require an EICR report by April 2021.

Electric mowers and other power tools should always be used with an RCD which will cut off the power quickly in the event of an accident.

Fuse Boxes – also known as Consumer Units – are used to control and distribute electricity around our homes.  It is important for us all to know where the fuse box is located in our properties, in case we ever need to turn the electricity off in an emergency.
