If you have a new cooker that needs to be installed, you may well need a new circuit installed as well. This must be done by a qualified, “Part P” compliant electrician, who will have the knowledge and skills required to ensure the installation is safe and adheres to all regulations.
In fact, even if you can use your current circuit, it is still advisable to use a certified electrician. If the job is undertaken by a non-qualified person, you will still need to be issued with a Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate to ensure everything inspected is safe. Otherwise your property insurance could be at risk, or worse, your safety.
