Averham is a village in Nottinghamshire. It is situated just west of Newark-On-Trent and southwest of the village is Staythorpe Power Station.
The village is home to a Grade I listed building in the form of the Church of St Michael and All Angels. This is a building of exceptional national, architectural or historical importance. They are rare and only make up around 2.5% of all listed buildings.
The village is known for its Robin Hood Theatre previously called the Robin Hood Opera House. This 150-seat theatre was built on an old rectory site in 1913. Suffering many ups and downs over the years the theatre last closed its doors back in 2007 due to safety concerns. Some 7 years later the local theatre group announced they had raised more than £50,000 towards its renovation costs.
